All vehicles at Kilburn Cars
come with a 3 year Guarantee
for your peace of mind.

We believe our cars are of the best quality you will find anywhere...

With every vehicle sold we offer a complimentary 3 year Guarantee that will assist you in the unlikely event that your car suffers a Major Mechanical Failure within the next 3 years. (see below for the definition of "Major Mechanical Failure") This is a very simple guarantee. It does require you to ensure that the servicing of your car is maintained in accordance with manufacturers recommendations which explain in more detail below. Also there is some requirements around authorized repairers should a fault should it arise. This too we explain in more detail below.

OUR CONTRIBUTION TO MAJOR MECHANICAL REPAIRS

Subject to the terms and conditions of the guarantee being carried out appropriately we will contribute to the cost of repairing a Major Mechanical Failure the following percentage of the cost:

  • YEAR ONE - 100%
  • YEAR TWO - 67%
  • YEAR THREE - 33%

COMMERCIAL VEHICLES, RACE CARS

Unfortunately we can only offer this guarantee for vehicles that are used privately and not for commercial use therefore there is no guarantee available for any of the following vehicles:

  • GVM over 3500KG
  • Vehicles used as taxis, rentals, courier vehicles, shuttles, any fare paying passenger vehicle or goods delivery vehicle.
  • No guarantee if your vehicle is used in racing competitions, time trials, rallies, speed testing, pace making, reliability trials or any off-road activities.

REFUND

In some cases if the repair cost is in our view too high we may elect to refund you the purchase price and buy the car back.

NOT TRANSFERRABLE

This guarantee is for you only, the Guarantee will not pass on to a new owner should you sell the car.

AUTHORISED REPAIRER

We require the car to be returned to us for repair. We will arrange for a transporter if required. Please call us on 09 2631002 or 027 4367463 as soon as practical once a Major Mechanical Failure has been identified.

MAJOR MECHANICAL FAILURE

A benchmark we use is that if the cost of the repair is greater than $1000 + gst (as quoted by our authorized repairer) then it is a Major Mechanical Failure. Generally Major Mechanical Failure is a repair that involves the Engine Failure and/or Transmission Failure (Automatic or Manual). If the repair cost is less than $1000 + gst it is not deemed to be a Major Mechanical Failure.
